Congrats on a productive American Chemical Society National Meeting in Orlando!

Karen brings her ECH 161C undergraduate biochemical engineering class to tour the facilities at Bayer CropScience.

The group presented two talks (Mary and Matt) and two posters (Sara and Korn). A special congratulations to Matt for winning “audience favorite” talk!

Matt organized a grad student-led outreach event called “STEM Stars” at Shirley Rominger Intermediate School in Winters. The kids were taught about scientific thinking and the complexity of exploring Mars through hands-on problem-based learning.

Sacramento City College members of the hand-powered centrifuge team, led by the McDonald-Nandi lab, visit Davis for a lab/campus tour and learn information the undergraduate biochemical engineering program.

A warm welcome our new Chemical Engineering graduate student lab members: Dexter Antonio (Phd), Kevin Yates (Phd), Eric Knapp (MS), and Kiro Kelada (MS).

Karen spoke on techno-economic analysis at the Plant-Based Technology Trends Meeting held 2-4 Decemeber 2018 in Meireles, Fortaleza, Brazil.
